As Manon Design Studio experiences increased project volume, recent projects have encountered challenges related to cost management, leading to budget overruns. This has the potential to impact project quality and compromise the core concepts upheld by Manon Design Studio.
Therefore, we propose the recruitment of an experienced Quantity Surveyor (QS). The QS is expected to support the Production Team in developing realistic budgets, managing costs efficiently, and providing appropriate input to ensure each project proceeds according to its financial plan.
Qualification for QS Candidates
- Indonesian Citizenship
- Able to work in Bali (ASAP)
- Good communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Professional certification (if any) such as RICS, AIQS, or other relevant certifications is an advantage.
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience as a QS in construction projects, particularly those involving architectural projects.
- Experience in handling projects at the planning or design stage.
- Proficiency in cost estimation, Bill of Quantities (BoQ) preparation, and cost analysis.
- Familiarity with cost estimation and project management software, such as CostX, BIM, or other software.
- Ability to identify and evaluate variables that can impact project budgets.
- Possess excellent communication skills. (English language proficiency is an advantage)
- Understand construction processes and materials used in projects.
Job Description
- A. Initial Cost Estimation
- Conduct cost estimation for projects based on design sketches and specifications provided by the architectural team.
- Use appropriate estimation methods to provide a realistic cost picture to the client.
- B. Preparation of Bill of Quantities (BoQ)
- Prepare a detailed BoQ for all project elements, including materials, labor, and required equipment.
- Ensure that all items in the BoQ cover all aspects of the work to be performed.
- C. Cost Analysis and Comparison
- Conduct cost analysis for various design options proposed by the architectural team.
- Provide recommendations based on analysis to assist in decision-making.
- D. Material Research and Selection
- Conduct research on materials to be used in the project and estimate related costs.
- Compile a list of more economical material alternatives if necessary.
- E. Participation in Planning Meetings
- Participate in project planning meetings to discuss cost and budgeting aspects.
- Provide input on potential cost savings and ways to better manage budgets.
- F. Development of Cost Reports
- Prepare initial cost reports for presentation to the client and relevant parties.
- Update cost reports periodically as the project design and specifications evolve.
- G. Evaluation of Cost Risks
- Identify risks that may affect project costs and provide mitigation strategies.
- Develop sensitivity analysis for changes in design and budget.
